What is penetration testing

Think like
an attacker.

A vulnerability scan tells you what might be wrong. A penetration test proves what an attacker could actually do with it: which weaknesses can be chained together to reach your data.

We run automated penetration tests and vulnerability scans against your network and internet-facing systems, then turn the results into a plain-English report with a prioritized fix list. Our team handles the fixes if you’re a managed client.

  • Internal and external testing
  • Prioritized, plain-English findings
  • Retesting to prove the fixes worked

FAQ

Straight
answers.

What’s the difference between a vulnerability scan and a penetration test?

A scan finds known weaknesses. A penetration test tries to use them, the way a real attacker would, to show which ones actually put your data at risk.

Will testing disrupt our business?

No. Tests are designed to be safe for production systems and can be scheduled outside business hours.

How often should we test?

At least once a year, and after major changes like a new office, new systems or a merger. Many insurers and regulators expect regular testing.

Do we need this for HIPAA or cyber insurance?

HIPAA requires regular risk analysis and evaluation of your safeguards, and many carriers ask about testing. Our reports help document both.
